They laughed and went their places….Brian
went home, Alex went to his neighborhood and he became very upset, he cried, he
wanted to hug a mum and a dad...But the people he saw were homeless, drug
users...He went to his box and tried to sleep.

The Big Day
The Big Day
Finally, the big day arrived. Alex and
Brian met and went to hospital together for their appointment. First Alex
entered Dr. Hussain’s room. Doctor Hussain welcomed him and he told Alex that
his result was positive. Alex shocked. Dr. Hussain relaxed him,
“Please don’t
panic. Your confirmation test result Western Blot is positive.”

What about Alex?
Alex felt good with talking to Dr. Hussain.
He started to look for people HIV positive to talk to them in his neighborhood.
His neighborhood was not a neat place, there were lots of drug users, and some
of them were HIV positive and even some had AIDS which means acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. Alex found John.
John were living in same neighborhood, but had to move away because of
economical issues. John told he had HIV for about probably 2 or 3 years. But he found out that
he was positive 1 year ago. He had been admitted to hospital 1 year ago,
because he was fainted and found alone at the street. People saw him called
ambulance. He was diagnosed AIDS at this time.

Brian was having really
difficult problems about drug. After consultation with doctor, he went to visit
his grandmother. He was feeling very lonely in this world and he was looking
for someone to talk and share his problems. His grandmother was working in a
fast food restaurant. She had to work to stay alive. She had diabetes and
hypertension. And medical insurance was so much expensive, that’s why she
needed to work. She was housewife for many years but her husband died and did not leave her so much property. Also her
daughter, Brian’s mom, Laura, was not a
frugal girl in her teenage times. So, she was also an unhappy woman.

Hussain's face changed. Because
Alex seemed positive according to his guess. That means, infection risk of
Brian increased. Hussain turned to normal, because he had to be strong. He
really wanted to help Brian.

They applied to ID policlinic, one by one.
Doctor Hussain, originally from Pakistan was working there. He talked to Alex
first. And he wanted Alex to be honest and he told him that he would never share his personal data. So he convinced
Alex. Alex started to tell everything. He told doctor that he was an IV drug
user, he was grown at streets, he had no family, no relatives, all of his
friends were homeless people. Hussain was so sad when he listened his story. He
said,

Difficult times
Difficult times
At the end, Brian lived with her grandmother
and he became 15 years old. Brian was very active, was loving to make new
friends. But friends of him were not very smart good guys. Some of them were
using drugs. Some of them were sent to jail due to robbery, rape. Brian could
not stop himself and finally he started on drugs too. That interest ended up
using IV (Intravenous) drugs. Poor Brian, he was in a trouble. One day he lost
his mind, needing drug IV. It was a crisis. He used a friend’s needle to inject
drug. And he got calm down. After a while, he realized that he used someone
else’ needle. And the owner of needle had been sick for a while before that
crisis. Brian started to think if he got infected by any virus. He tried to
talk his friend and his friend told him that he didn't know if he had any
infection. So, they decided to go to a doctor, but they didn’t have enough
money to pay 250 US dollars doctor visit and also no health insurance. So, they
found a way to get tests. They applied for blood donation. Because they do
hepatitis, HIV tests for free for donors. They went to a hospital but before
that, they tried to look good, bought new clothes. Before donation, they were
asked to fill a form if they were suitable to donate blood. There was a
question: “Are you an intravenous drug user?” They decided to choose “No”.
Otherwise, that would be a risk for them about being refused without test. They
needed test, so they chose “no”.

Brian was 3 years old when his parents were
divorced. He is the single common kid of
his parents. His father, Gary was working in a very big company in a very
important administrative position. Gary was loving his job even though it made
him very stressful and aggressive sometimes. Gary loved Laura (Brian’s mother).
They met at a party at university years. Laura didn’t like Gary at first, but
at the end of university, Laura decided to marry him. Because Gary was very
successful and started to work in a very big company. So, the money and being
rich was more important to Laura than to be loved or loving. But Gary, he was
very vivid, loved his job, loved his wife. He loved Laura, because he was
amazed with her beauty and body. He didn't take care of her personality so
much.
